ADVERSE REACTIONS The clinical studies of ganoderma report no severe side effects and only a few cases of minor reactions. These reactions include dry mouth, skin rash, loose stool, or slight digestive upset that is eliminated when the use of ganoderma is stopped (digestive system problems are often eliminated simply by taking the mushroom with a meal rather than between meals). Ganoderma apparently protects the liver from the adverse effects of other drugs and chemicals, as demonstrated in laboratory experiments. The more concentrated extracts of ganoderma (made with multiple and selective extraction processes) were developed expressly for the purpose of maintaining active constituents while minimizing the incidence of adverse reactions. Ganoderma has been used in conjunction with pharmaceutical drugs without apparent adverse interaction. |
